Fix your bad tail lights.....

Remove this ad
For those of you with 94-97 Sevilles who are having problems with your tails, brakes, or rear turn signal lights, here is a great cheap and easy fix if you have tracked to curlpit to a loose ground, wiring connection at the lamp sockets...

I had a fast-flashing right-turn signal which I tracked down to a bad ground in one of the rear taillamp sockets. Purchased this off eBay, popped it right in, and PROBLEM FIXED Works for either side.

Re: Fix your bad tail lights.....

I got a 96 seville sts.My right inner tail light when i bought it had alot of moisture in it.I drilled a few holes in it and it dried it all out.I checked the sockets and they are all corroded.Been looking for a fix for this. Will this harness work for it?
Also how do i add my car so it will list under my name?

Thanks
Mike

Re: Fix your bad tail lights.....

I had the same problem with mine, apparently the grounds in the sockets on the rear tail lamps go bad, they corrode or pull out of the harness. Kinda common too from what I heard. I was able to half ass rig mine back so I wouldn't get the fast blinking and stuff, but 70 bucks to have solid connections again isn't too bad, I'll probably do that. Thanks for the heads up.

Re: Fix your bad tail lights.....

When you guys drill your tails, you should block the holes so more moisture won't find it's way in through them. It may sound odd, but cutting the filter off a cigarette and sticking it in the hole works perfectly for this. It will draw the moisture out of the tail-lamp and prevent anything coming in through the hole.

Just a little preventative backyard engineering so your connections don't corrode.
