So thinking i had a blown headgasket i went today to see if there was Hcs in the coolant and there was 900+ so having to car alittle over a year
i called the dealer to see what they would do the repair for. When talking to the guy he told me that there records showed that my motor was replaced with a used one..... ???? so now i have a car with a motor i have no clue how many miles are on it the title says actual miles and when i bought the car i asked about major repairs ETC. and was told theres was not and was giving a service record that never showed this......anyone have some input for me?

Re: this is a good one!!!

If you can get paperwork from the dealer that it was replaced and show that it was the previous owner that did it, you may be able to take them to court... However, most used car sales are an "as is" deal, so if the car falls apart pulling out of their driveway, you are screwed. My dad filed a law suit against a guy that did something similar to him. A guy sold him a car and told him that there have been no major repairs to it. A week later, it died on the freeway. When he got it to a mechanic, the mechanic told him the engine in it was for a different car and it looked like it had a lot more mileage than what the odometer said (the car had 50k on the odo.) My dad filed a lawsuit and the dude that sold him the car paniced and settled out of court. My dad got to keep the car and 70% of his money...

However, a friend of mine went through a similar situation and it went to court and he lost... The judge just told him "buyer beware"...

Re: this is a good one!!!

The milage on the engine is not addressed by law, only the odometer readout. A dealer has to be careful about how he represents the car but all owner to owner sales are casual sales and are "as is"; just like an old fashioned horse trade.
