Your on board computer is already at work, the dtc 71 code, is a EBTCM INTERNAL MALFUNCTION, WHICH SETS THE CODE P1571, WHICH is telling you that the electonic brake and traction control module ( EBTCM) IS not sending the PULSE WIDTH MODULATED SIGNAL to the program control module. YOUR EBTCM IS NOT COMMUNICATING WITH YOUR PROGRAM CONTROL MODULE, and the PCM, is turning off your traction control, which in turn, turns off your low gear, and the car starts is second gear by default. THE TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT ALSO STAYS LIT UP. If your car was built after the following VIN numbers, CONCOURS /DEVILLE 280478, ELDORADO 614516 SEVILLE 826978, YOU have one of the new EBTCM, PRIOR to these numbers your have the old style module, lets just say the old style module had some internal problems which tended to turn off your traction control, the new ones were much more reliable. First check your connections to your wheel speed sensors at each wheel, check the connection to the EBTCM, CLEAR the codes and see if it resets immediately without the car moving, if it resets with just turning the key on and you do not ever move the car, then more than likely you have an internal fault if you are sure you have good connections, the dealer has a wiring harness he can install to check and see if it is internal. |

Does OBD I or II matter on the ebtcm? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/CADIL...QQcmdZViewItem
Also code tc0073

that module may be the source of most of those codes, everything on these cars are tied into one another keep that in mind |

They even left the damn shock sensor on bottom of column. Grrrr i hate wire hackers. Any thoughts on a wiring diagram of a basic alarm that i could see online? Gotta go thru it and remove the two added fuses, added relay, wires, hood switch, siren, and trunk switch. Guess ill have to go with the ol' yellow to yellow, white to white color matching....hopefully. Also i noticed they ran the remote(blue) wire for the amp off one of the wires under there. Is there a remote wire and RCA comming out of factory bose unit? Well im glad i kinda paid attention in electrical class at auto school.
Whatta Nightmare! |

I guess ill find out when i put the system in hopefully amp and subs will be plug and play. Any ideas on any appoxy or glue i should use to put my emblems on landeo/vinyl roof?
Think i may have to go to a body shop and see if they have mounted any emblems, similar to my situation, and see what they used. | | Cadillac Discussion Tools | | |
