Have a nice JBL GTO75.4 Amp in good condition and am not sure on the speaker size or what would fit in the panels in the front while maintaining a mostly stock look or just dump the factory grills for ones that come with better speakers, the back ones appear to be just 6x9s so thats no problem, and also was hoping that someone found a link to a dash adapter that has either 2 places for 1 DIN head units, so i could have a headunit and a screen or if there are only 1 DIN with pocket setups like one of my friends has...
Also i was wondering if there are any places that have the adapters so that i could possibly use either an Alpine head unit or possibly another better after market head unit with my Steering Wheel controlls, have had some trouble tracking such items down and love the forums here so wanted to see what you guys thought...
Thanks... |

1 inch tweets and 5 1/4 mids in the doors
6x9 in the rear deck
2) you can fit a double din in however you need to make a double din fit kit, no one does.
3) PAC sells the adapter you need however it depends on which hu you have and wither it is wheel control ready if you can get the adapter and which one you will need.
hope this helps and fyi this is an audio section question really and should be posted down there, mods please move thank you! |

Alpine CDA-9857
Alpine SPX-137R Component 5 1/4"
Alpine SPR-69C 6x9 rears
Thats it so far will probably pair it with my JBL GTO 75.4 (125W x 4 Channels)
Went with the headunit cause i have had good luck with that series, this one has 3 preouts, Satellite Radio ready, and steering wheel compatibility...
Also priced out the adapters and wiring harnesses for the car and the correct dash adapter... and then just see how it goes from there...
lookin for suggestions for changes to what i already listed if anyone has any...
hopin to also get a carputer setup with a fold out touchscreen i found through Mp3car.com |

Saw the pages in refrence to modifying the "99-2005" Dash kit to a double DIN setup, but i was wondering if it would be possible to have 2 Single DIN slots modded in that kit cause i was hoping to get a regular headunit, and then also a fold out screen, or should i just go with either a Double DIN screen solution or just a fold out screen
What i was going to use the second slot for was for a touchscreen off mp3car.com and have it interface with my laptop which would manage GPS, Mp3 storage and playback, various other features to go along with that sorta setup...
Anyways thanks guys, and if you have suggestions on a fold out touch screen that has CD/MP3 CD playback and both VGA in and USB for the computer to do video/mouse playback such as the ones in the Mp3car.com store i would love to hear em...
Also wouldnt have the computer in the car setup as is frequented on Mp3Car.com, just as of now have an interface and such for my laptop to be plugged in and the display/controls be through the dash |

Since you already have Alpine SRX (which is some of the best Alpine makes) It makes since to stay with them If you really want the best then go for the F1 series.
Other wise you have a nice set up already. I replaced my Bose HU because
Cadillac will not sell any additionsl equipment like XM DRR or Nav wiring harnesses, bumbs. I went with a Alpine W200 double din sm tuner, iPod,
12 CD changer 872 Nav, HD radio, two sets of SRX177R F&R doors and two infiniti Kappa Perfect 10in subs. The subs are powered by two 605 sub amps and the 550 surround sound 5ch amp does the rest. It wasn't cheap but it wasn't out of the park either. I found the W200 to have some raally good quilities to it in fine tunning the audio I think the real key here is Sound Staging within your ride. That makes the difference. There are a lot of fine audio components out there. Jason has a good handle on this area, because of his espertise and I wouod look to him for sound advice. JMHO. Good Luck in your project. By the way I to have a STS and love the car. First non Hot Rod I have ever had. I got a good one Just wish it was rear wheel drive.
