I want to say it is important to me, but with my CTS-V and Honda Pilot getting 19 mpg, and my maxima 24, it must not be that important. As long as I continue to be able to pay my monthly gas card bill, which lately has been about $600/month. That is the cost of not being in an econobox, and I drive too many miles to be in one.

Let's see, I learned how to drive in a 65 Bonneville Convertible. just lost my 88 Lincoln to natural causes, I think there was a 300z in between there somewhere, naahh, if I cared about gas mileage I would have had more kids and fewer cars.

I have a 2002 Cavalier w/ECOTEC and 5sp for Commuting Economy...Also have 2001 Chevy 2500 with the 8.1L...as they say, it Passes Everything but a Gas Station...also have 1967 Chevelle for Old-School muscle...

I buy vehicles for what they provide - economy for Commuting, Big-A Pickemup for the Big Stuff/Snow, Chevelle for Smoky-Burnouts and the Caddy for...well it's a CADILLAC!!!!!

I was concerned enough about fuel costs that I came very close to not buying an old Caddy. But what the hey, it is what it is, and I keep it in top running condition and drive sensibly so it isn't all that bad. Besides, it's not a daily driver so that helps. I remember saying in 1973 that I would walk before I'd pay 50 cents for a gallon of gas (was used to paying 26-32 cents a gal.).
