I like the 68 because of the 472, although I HATE the steering wheel, I like everything else. |

The new sporty ones, or the older boaty ones? Actually I like them both for different reasons. I love the interiors of the older Cadillacs. Very regal and comfortable. But I prefer the size of my CTS. It's much more nimble and responsive. I think they both look great but I prefer owning a new warranted car with very little problems. ZOOMzoom!! |

New CTS looks nice, esp red.

The new sporty ones, or the older boaty ones? I think the poll options are incorrect. It's not euro/jap influence that is shaping cars today, it's wind tunnel testing. I have said for a long time that aerodynamics design for performance and economy will ultimately drive manufacturers to a common shape. You have to compromise that shape if you want to distinguish one model from another but the basic concept stands.
That said, I never cared for the old boats. It wasn't until the sleeker models came out that I would even consider a Caddy. IMHO, I think that in a few years people will look back on the 300 and relate it to the AMC Matador. Some of you are too young to remember how everyone went nuts over the Pacer and the Gremlin and other "revolutionary" cars. It goes back further than that even. |

I think there is nothing like Cadillac's mesh of performance and luxury. They've found a great common ground with their newer models. |

The new sporty ones, or the older boaty ones? By every objective technical standard, either of my newer Caddys is far superior to my 77. But if you were to say let's take a cross-country road trip (or any trip, really) which of the three do you want to take, you bet your sweet bippy I'd be loading up the 77's trunk. The two newer cars are really nice, very fine road cars both, and I like them very well, but I dream about the 77. Long live the boats!

Until then I'm sticking to my 93 Fleetwood Brougham, the new ones do nothing for me. |

I love driving this new 2000 DTS. The new features and luxuries. A whole different animal from my 1990 Brougham.
I do miss my brougham. I went to my sisters house today and started it after 3 months, and drove it... Ohhh what a feeling.
Hopefully when im done doing up this 81 Fleetwood Brougham coupe i will be rocking the vintage caddys, and the new DTS |

with the technology and efficiency of todays powertrains, yesteryears comfort and luxury can still be had with todays efficiency.
Bring em back GM and see how well they sell.
As far as switching to a more economic car, gas is going to have to go over the $5 a gallon mark for me to even consider a smaller engine.
I love the torque the V-8 offers plus the plushness of the seats and the ride is oh so smooth.
I know eventually i'm going to have to face reality but as of now, for me owning this car is still feasible.
With my driving patterns and having to commute even with a V-8 engine, a tank of gas still lasts me a week. | | Cadillac Discussion Tools | | |
