The "other Caddy" is definitely NOT a 1953 model. It's either 1951 or 1952. From the look of the trim plate under the headlights, and despite the fuzzy picture, I'm betting 99% it's a 1952 model.

Allanté in popular culture:
* The car has appeared in the movies Tango & Cash, Cadillac Man, Terminal Velocity, Lethal Weapon 3, Steven King's The Stand and Rocky V,

* Kelly Bundy (played by Christina Applegate) auditioned for and became a spokesperson for the Allanté in the television series Married... with Children.
* J.R. Ewing of the hugely popular tv series Dallas drove a silver Cadillac Allante in the later years of the series.

A couple of the car chases I mentioned on page 1 of this thread are on YouTube:

McQ has a car chase at the end with a '71 Sedan de Ville and a '73 Chevrolet Impala against John Wayne in a butt-ugly '69 Plymouth Belvedere. The Impala is destroyed in a spectacular multiple roll-over crash; the Cadillac ends up riddled with bullets.



Speedtrap has a couple of chases through Phoenix with early 70s Eldorados (go to about 3 minutes into the clip for the first Eldo).

the movie "Tin Men" has almost nothing but 59-64 Cadillacs. Theres a 59 Impala in it too.

I periodically scan YouTube to look for car chase scenes from the movies, and the other night, I found one from The Corrupter (1999). The amount of gunplay is insane (and not for the squeemish), but the bad guys are driving an 89 or 90 Sedan de Ville. I've never seen a car like mine in a movie car chase before. Check it out:
