Cadillac Forums: Anybody heard of this Cadillac from 1975-76?
I recall them. He's correct about only being available thru authorized Cadillac dealers, but it is AFTERMARKET. The link is that the car went FROM Cadillac directly to the convertor. She arrived at the dealer on the delivery truck from Cadillac looking like what you see here.
:coolgleam Back in the 70's someone in my town had one. They lived right by the high school and I'd walk past it every day. Definitely aftermarket but the one I saw looked very well made. I've never seen one but I've heard about Caddys back then being converted into station wagons too, using full-size GM wagon parts.
I worked at Saurhoff Cadillac in the mid-seventies and saw a couple of these. They were indeed aftermarket and based on the hearse platform. These were also available on the Eldorado platform from another convertor! Those were dubbed "Cowboy Cadillacs" by one magazine in the day. :coolgleam
