PostCadillac News: Dongfeng does a terrible job copying Cadillac's SRX

Filed under: China, Etc., Crossover, Cadillac

Now, we've seen some pretty bad Chinese copies of American vehicles (blatant Ford F-150 ripoff, anyone?), but this is just... ew. What you're looking at here is a yet-to-be-named crossover from Chinese company Dongfeng, clearly stealing many of its design cues from the decidedly handsome Cadillac SRX.

According to Car News China, this Dongfeng... thing is likely based on the last-generation Kia Sorento, a vehicle that is still manufactured in the People's Republic as part of the Dongfeng-Yueda-Kia joint venture. The crossover will reportedly launch in the first half of 2013, powered by a Nissan-sourced 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine.

Scroll through the gallery above to see a few pictures of the Dongfeng ripoff, and head over to Car News China for more details and photos.Dongfeng does a terrible job copying Cadillac's SRX originally appeared on Autoblog on Tue, 29 May 2012 16:29:00 EST. Please see our terms for use of feeds.
