The CTS-V will still be available "for awhile"...

The life of the CTS-V may be limited. I heard from a reliable source that there are no plans for a STS/DTS replacement "V". There will be no more XLR after the factory where it's currently built is converted for Corvette C7 production. So this leaves us with one V-Series vehicle that will be around "for awhile"....

The future is very uncertain for Cadillac...

    There is no M7 either.

It's hard to wring world-class performance from cars larger than the CTS/5-series. Rumor also has it that we will get the next generation of the BLS here which will complete the 3C/5E/7S size offerings expected of manufacturers in this market. A RWD BLS-V would be a perfect match for the M3.

No XLR, or the next XLR won't share a chassis with the 'Vette?
Them axing the XLR is believable though with it's slow sales and GM making cutbacks though. We also have a CTS convertible coming soon and it may be hard to justify the XLR's difference in price.

It would be a mistake for them to abandon the V-series at this point. Even if they do not sell particularly well, they contribute to the image that Cadillac needs to build to match the europeans and continue to be a player in the market.

The XLR dies when the currentt Corvette does. Its replacement was cancelled. The CTS convertible was cancelled earlier this year.

Sorry, no topless Cadillacs for the forseeable future.

2011 is shaping up as a very thin year for Cadillac. The STS, DTS, and XLR will all be gone. There will be the CTS wagon and Coupe, though. But the CTS sedan will be the largest sedan offered by Cadillac until the DT7 appears in the fall of 2011 at the earliest (if it doesn't get killed altogether).

We both heard the same rumor.
But there is still hope that future alpha cadillac will get V version so there will CTS-V, BLS -V (if BLS will be the name) CTC-V, and who knows maybe even cts wagon gets V version.
It would be nice to have DT7-V version but it seems that most powerful engine in that car will be V6 TT with 430+ HP(if car will get produce at all).
But yes i agree taht the future of cadillac is very uncertain. Without XLR, uncertain production of DT7 ..no new v8 in plans..not very good.

STS-V sales were less than expected, even in it's limited release numbers, XLR-V even worse. No surprise the CTS-V sedan/coupe will be the V Series for the next few years.

The reason for the failure of STS-V and XLR-V can be summed in one word: price. Who would really pay $80k (STS) or $100k (XLR) for these vehicles when they'll be worth half that in 2 years. My boss just picked up a black '06 XLR-V w/36k miles for $50k, and a few months before a two '07 STS-V's for $50k as well. Unbelievable.

I have just read that the DTS has been given a stay of execution for a few more years. The "DT7", Zeta platform relacement car has been, for the moment, cancelled. Personally, I don't see the DTS selling very well that many years out.

OK, geebee, then what is the plan? Can they seriously be considering having the CTS as the largest car offering after 2011? They might as well kill the brand then, this makes no sense to me.
