What the hell is going on?! Why is Cadillac becoming exactly what I don't like? I really hate this. First, they became more concerned with sportyness over luxury. Then they became smaller. Now they're getting even Smaller?! What good did this do in 1986?! People who drive Cadillacs don't care about gas mileage. Do you think people who drive BMWs, Lexus', Mercedes and Audi's have gas-mileage on their mind first and foremost?! Absolutely not!

http://www.autoblog.com/2007/05/14/c...-replacements/

So the DTS and STS is going to be replaced by one vehicle.. As it stands, the CTS is too small for me. The STS isn't much bigger and the DTS is too small to be Cadillac's BIG sedan.. If they're NOT going to build an S-Class competitor, and their biggest car is going to be smaller than the current DTS - than what is Cadillac trying to accomplish? I'm really getting confused here...

WTF

I have been waiting for news that they are going to build a new Fleetwood as a top of the line Cadillac. A BIG Fleetwood.

Then this news like a lighting from a clear sky.
Exactly the opposite news that i was hopeing on.

Re: Cadillac to adjust its product mix toward smaller vehicles

I respectfully disagree with your frustration of Cadillac’s future.

I think smaller, sporty Cadillacs is exactly what they need to be doing to compete with the 3’s, 5’s, C-Class, E-Class, TL’s, TSX’s, IS’s, GS’s, A4’s, and A6’s out there.

When people want big these days, they’ll go for the SUV and go for the not only the long but the tall. When you want a land yacht, you buy an Escalade.

I love my CTS. Better turning radius than my previous Accord. Not as rough as a TL, perfect mix between sport and luxury.

…just hope Bluetooth available when I get my ’08.

Congratulations GM your moving one more step foward to going bankrupt and being bought by Toyota.
Your cars suck now, I'll never buy a new one. I'll just buy classics and put all modern amenities in them instead.

Hello!

My frustration is a result of that Cadillac even want to compete with the BMW serie 3, Mercedes C klass and AUDI A4. The TL's, TSX's, IS's and GS's, are carmodels i don't reconize, "I'm in Europe".
The bigger BMW, MB, and AUDI are okey to compete with, IMHO.

Here in Europe we even have the even smaller BLS, a glorified SAAB, to compete with the smaller cars.
Almost every car manufactor in the world have a model line to compete with the smaller of the cars you wrote.

A popular word atleast in Europe now is "Premium cars", but that premium means nothing if every manufactor offer one or more.

Even Koreaen and soon Chinese manufactors have cars that can compete with any BMW, MB, or AUDI in terms of luxury and reliability, the only they don't have is the status that BMW's badge or MB star gives.
They however can compete with the price just like japanese cars did in the 60's and 70's.

The CTS and Cadillacs like that, look great with it's unike design and speed resourcers way better than any land yacht from the 70's or 80's. I can very well see myself own and drive one.
But still I think they lack atleast 3 feet of lenght.

The big cars now is the SUV's or pick up trucks. And thats the problem, that i would like Cadillac to do something about.
I belive that there is room for a big, or rather a long wheelbase personal luxury car that are done so, that the only that matters is that the driver and his, or her, family or frieds, are given the best smothest ride possible in a good looking personal car.
Where the need to haul a half ton of cargo is given no importens at all.

Re: Cadillac to adjust its product mix toward smaller vehicles

What the hell! I thought they were going to restyle the DTS! damn, it's like watching your best friend turn into a crack head and you can't have an intervention. I feel pain. If Cadillac dies, the America I want to live in dies with it. It's more than just the cars, it's the whole idea of a big, opulent, apathetic culture that's being flushed down the crapper. I don't want a f***ing sports sedan, I want a big, cushy, powerful, in-your-face, purely American barge!
