Being in Florida, you will not have to worry about the no traction problem in ice/snow... go for the SRT-8, it is the best 12 mpg you will get
Many of the problems with the 2006 were resolved in 2007, especially the bad brake rotors & calipers. | You got to drive your dads SRT right?. What did you think of it?. What kind of problems did the '06 have cause I was open to the idea of getting a leftover '06 or slightly used one. Thanks. |

Good Luck with the wife.
EDIT: Unless you like lumbering around in traffic getting 13mpg, the H2 will just piss you off. | Dont really care for the DVD and Nav so I'd probably get the cheaper one without those. I was thinking $33k-$35k. I get only 13 mpg or so now with my '91 Fleetwood so the gas thing doesn't bother me too much. |

This may help your bargaining power. $9,000 off MSRP. Now you're looking at $30K. http://www.lxforums.com/board/showthread.php?t=54532 |

It was surprisingly smooth despite the 20 inch wheels & sport suspension. You will find the interior is cheap compared to your w140 S320. The Charger SRT-8 does sit low, very low, so you have to be careful with that front valence.
Because it sits on the previous generation Mercedes E-class chassis, it has a very European feel to it on the highway.
Get a 2007. The 2006 my Dad had suffered from:
1) 2 sets of warped rotors and 1 set of stuck Brembo calipers within 5000 miles
2) Sagging headliner
3) A/C pulley replaced
The brakes were the bad part. The car sounded like it was falling apart every time you pressed brake.
In 2007 they upgraded to slotted rotors, which supposedly fixed the issue. |

At any rate, DCX will replace groove rotors with new slotted ones free of charge. All 8 pads are replaced as well, free of charge. I did mine last month, $1,000 worth of free brakes, compliments of DCX. |

Still, a shame, and one hell of a car--nothing to keep me away, should finances permit. |

Even the newer Mercedes products dont hold a candle to the interior of a W140. What I do expect is that it will "wow" me when I hit the accelerator and I'll just chalk it off as the tradeoff. As much as I loved my Mercedes, I have always been a musclecar guy and the SRT8's seem to be the perfect car for someone like me that needs a 4 door but still wants to have some fun on the street/strip when the family is not in the car. I've been tossing the idea of a used M5,E55 or S600 around but decided to get something thats still under warranty and doesn't cost a god damn fortune to fix when the warranty runs out. I'll end up getting both the Hummer and the SRT8, the question is which one will come first. | | Cadillac Discussion Tools | | |
