So I've decided to break down and perhaps get a R/D for my birthday. I know little or nothing about them, but do know that I'm looking for reliability (in terms of signal processing) and bang for the buck. Also, I don't want to hang the darn thing off my mirror or on my upper dash, what are some of the new ways people are mounting them? I do NOT want to drill, glue, or otherwise compromise the interior of the Eldo - is velcro an option? How do you guys who have them mount them?
Any and all opinions will be carefully evaluated. Thanks in advance.

I think most of the differences from there boil down to style and preference. The V1 is a bit more sensitive, which is good and bad. |

My commute up to work and back lends itself to, well, let's just say, "spirited" driving - about 15 miles up the bottom end of I-295 here in NJ and the road is usually not very busy, except for the state troopers hiding in the bushes looking to bust drug runs from Florida to NYC - the limit is 65, I could easily keep it at 80 without being a menace to society.
If I'd had a detector back in December, I [i]probably[/b] wouldn't have been nailed. Hard to say. |

The Cobra gives you everything you need for le$$ money. http://www.bestradardetectors.net/ |

Im a dyed-in-the-wool Valentine1 guy...never had a ticket since I bought it in 1994. BUT, the new Escort 9500 is a really ingenious RD. Its basically an 8500 that uses GPS as well. This way when you find a traffic camera you can enter its location and the 9500 will warn you of it ahead of time as well as plotting well known speed traps....really neat, I may change over.

I don't own one but from what I've read and heard here I would say V1 is the only answer. I want one bad but it's not in the budget right now.
