Re: I just finished working a 17 hr shift....

I know what you mean about not being able to think straight. I was offshore for about 6 weeks working 12+ hour shifts. For the last week, I worked 18 hrs per day. It sucked but the paycheck was nice.

Re: I just finished working a 17 hr shift....

When our squadron would go on a cruise with the Navy the hours were 12 on, 12 off 7 days a week without extra pay - unless you collected the few extra dollars of hazardous duty pay for working the flight deck. And no alchohol onboard! It's life in the military sometimes. Part of being government issue.

Still, I sympathize with that feeling Rey Rey.

i do shit like that all the time. wait til you have to work 10 16 hour shifts in a row. i have done that. wanna talk about not thinking straight? be up for 48 hours straight, sleep 4 hours and work another 16 straight with a short turnaround and work another 16. yeah, i do shit like that all the time. its no fun man. 1 17 hour shift (when i say 16 i dont count the one hour i get for lunch, so they are all 17s) is nothing. you should know all this Rey, arent you getting your EMT? this is the life man... its all part of it.

Re: I just finished working a 17 hr shift....

My longest call shift to date is 23.5 hours straight. I have only done that a couple of times in the last 3 years. A 16 hour shift is nothing.
