Rushmore, Vegas, Alamo, DC, etc.) what Cadillac would you want to take the trip in?
I would have given more options, but I wanted to keep it short. Please list the other.

Reason: Addition of the last line.

If I was driving, 93-97 STS or 93-02 Eldorado Touring Coupe.
If I was the passenger, 74-76 Fleetwood, LT1 Brougham. |

Live in Washington state, but grew up in New York.
I picked the XLR-V style with get up and go.

Of the cars listed... '59 Eldorado, duh! sheesh.... perhaps the largest American icon, topless.... and it'll move along pretty nice too.
But... if I had all the time I needed, meaning alot of stops.... them ya know what?
Jeep Wrangler Rubicon, soft top. Topless in a Jeep.... if I have all the time I need to go across country, I'd be darned if I am limited to the paved highway... soo much to see.
err.... how about a first gen Isuzu Amigo, 1994 please... XS trim level though, and 4x4. Nearly as capable (minus the Rubicons lockers) but soo much better to drive in..... and half the top comes off . |

Classy as hell, fast(ish), not too huge, and very American. The '59 is just overdone.
Out of any car, I can't wait to take my '79 Phaeton to Iowa. For pretty much the same reasons listed above. |

Of the ones listed I'd take the 67; with the 59 my second choice. I'm not sure there's any other choices among ordinary cars. |

One of my friends has a 4.0 Wrangler. 3 gears, tops out at 80, and tons of road noise.
I voted for the Sixteen. I wouldn't turn down the chance to drive a 25 million dollar car The segment with James May driving one for Top Gear sold it for me, it is the staple of what a luxury car should be today. |

Same here, my friend had a '98 Wrangler SE with the 2.5 I-4 and 5 speed manual, terrible highway car, no space, tons of road/wind noise, uncomfortable, no storage room, no power. He bought an '01 Cherokee with the 4.0 and 5-speed and it's a much better highway car, no wind noise, no road noise, more comfort and storage space, good power even in 5th gear... |

I would stay away from SUVs too. For 90% of a trip like this they are inappropriate. |

The most luxurious vehicle made that year, and the most luxurious of the choices to pick from. The '67 is FWD, and I'm used to RWD. The 16 is gaudy but would get a ton of attention. The XLR is too small for me. Nah, has to be the enormous landyacht. If I'm driving across America to see the sites, I want to do it in the most American car ever built, the '59 Eldo. |
