Dealer Services Warranty

Well I got a letter in the mail about extending my warranty. I was currently at 103,900 miles.. They said they dont usually give out warranties for cars over 100k. Im a bit impulsive and hope I didn't just screw myself. But it was $400 down and $150/m for 12 months. It's a drivetrain warranty for 5 year/100k miles. They said I could not call them back up and get the warranty so I had to do it then and there. They claim if I sell the car I can either transfer the warranty with no money back, or cancel the warranty and if I havent used it for any repairs, they will refund me what I have paid. I wanted to get it because there have been a few signs of problems showing. I was just wondering if anyone has had experience or heard anything about this company? My last warranty was horrible in not repairing things unless they were completely bad and didnt like things done with the cadi dealership I went to. Any input would be great.

Re: Dealer Services Warranty

I hope they are good, I just got the comprehensive "gold" coverage for my 2001 STS with 98,000 miles. They said they pulled string after string and after talking them down from their original $3400 quote, I got them down to match another warranty's quote of $2500, then got them again down to $2169 since I said I would just hang up if they didnt work with me. So I get all the major components covered (excluding: head gaskets if heat related and suspension struts ) All in all I think I got a great deal and hope I get my money's worth, seeing as anything on this car is expensive to repair.

But we'll make an exception because we like you? First warning bell...... liars.

Sounds too good to be true. I assume you couldn't get that in writing because you had to do it "then and there" over the phone. Maybe it's just my suspicious nature, but they sound a little shady to me.

Re: Dealer Services Warranty

Man I get those stupid cards in the mail ALL THE TIME. I know it was impulse, but man you should have done a little research on who backs them and their history first. I can almost guarantee you that they *WONT* cover seals and gaskets, and without seals and gaskets coverage, what the hell is a warranty for on a Northstar Cadillac? Its your biggest possible expense. Make sure this is covered, and if its not you might as well cut your losses and cancel this warranty immediately. I dont want you to get taken and I will very pissed off if you do.
