Street Racing is SO Dangerous....

Well tonight i was tinkering with my bike. Made a couple Carb Adjustments and took it around the neiborhood to check to see if i got any improvment. I freed up a little more power so i was never the less quite happy. Took it back home and began to re adjust the chain , its been quite a game with it to get the tension just right so i dont have too much slack and yet keep it loose enough to not loose any power thru it.

So i took it for another spin , bikes even faster , prolly getting close to the 55 mph barrier. I came up on a minivan pretty quick and rather then stay behind him i passed him with my 50cc's of fury turning 19,000 rpm (not kidding). I get by the van and decided to wring it out the rest of the way to see what it had. All the sudden i feel the engine unload , i thought "must have lost the clutch". As soon as i have this thought the rear wheel TOTALY locks up. An 18 inch tall motorbike running 50 mph with a minivan behind you and a rear wheel totaly locked is a hair rasieing experence. But i rode it the full 8 seconds and never fell off.

The people in the van were laughin there asses off at me as they went by. I picked up my bike and walked home to look for a fresh pair of shorts. Took the bike apart , the chain failed due to the power i was laying down when it failed it wrapped around the rear sproket causeing the wheel to lock and in turn flat spotted my rear racing slick.

Ill see if i can post some pics tomorrow of the damage ...for now heres a old pic just in case someone hasnt heard of the little monster i keep in the trunk of my caddy.

From now on im wearing a damn helmet and jeans , its just too damned fast and dangerous now ....

Re: Street Racing is SO Dangerous....

Good to hear you made it out of that safe. Running that at 50+ shouldnt you upgrade the chain and sprocket? Those things are only really designed to do 30ish right?

LMFAO,sounded like a thrill ride for sure.I saw a guy on one of those get into a speed wobble, funny stuff, putting the feet down not the best decision in that case.I told him he should of had leathers on when riding that hog.Did I mention I was laughing.

I know it is the safest thing to do, but the image of a grown man on an 18" bike with a racing helmet...

Re: Street Racing is SO Dangerous....

yeah itll look silly , but ask anyone whose seen this thing when its running right , and the normal awnser is "hes friggin crazy" ...NO ONE will ride it anymore ....the day i got it was a diffrent story ....but after they seen how fast itll go now after all the work....no one will go near it ...

got a new chain on the way along with a diffrent rear gear , itll come out of the hole faster but ill loose some of the top end , but it was pretty insane at top end anyway ...
