I've owned a Cadillac Sedan Deville but I got rid of it. And I mostly came on here because of my dad and I have grown to like this place.

Agreed. And for the record, I love both cars. Have driven the Z06 and have ridden in a GT. Great cars in their own ways. Both kicking ass in ways not expected.

danm i left for 2 days, and this is where this tread has gone, plus randy is a tool, i still hold my prev. commet, that the Ford gt driver cant drive prob. punching in third instead of 2nd, or the zo6 was spraying.

Now that I've had fun with Blackout, I'll get serious for a minute.

The only tests that has any credence for comparison are tests run at the same time on the same track. In all the head to head tests I could find, the Z06 was quicker than the GT. We don't know what numbers the Z06 would have run in Europe or anywhere else unless it was run at the same time. The GT is faster top end, if that matters to anyone, due to it's areo, it's more exclusive also, but I say why pay for a house and get a car that's not as quick as one at 1/2 the price??

We are forgetting power to weight ratios. Relook the stats and it's clear which car has the better. Every 100 pounds less equals .1 seconds off the 1/4 mile.

You truly are a moron. I guess you failed to see my post with the Z06, GT, and SRT-10 Viper Coupe doing laps and the GT having the best lap time as well as the best average mph per lap. And could you please post us links to these "track times" that the Z06 was faster then the GT? BTW I'm still waiting for more info about that blue devil powered '08 SS

That rule of thumb is so broad that its not even funny. So many things go into these equations that is un accounted for. For example if I took a Blue Bird school bus and took out 100 lbs do you really think that is going to take off a tenth of a second? No. Gear ratios, torque, drag, aerodynamics, tires, etc. all account for a cars acceleration. But as we have shown time and time again the GT does weigh more but is a faster car.

Please let me clarify, 0-60 and 1/4 mile where we drive that means more than lap times. Most of us aren't going to Road Atlanta, but we might pair off for a 0-60 run at the stoplight.
