500 hp is 500 hp. The Vette does not have a nicer interior then the GT. Take a seat in the Z06 and then do the same in the GT. GT has much better build quality and much better materials used. The Vette is plastic on top of plastic. And its the Ford GT not the GT40. And the reason the GT gets the nod over the Z06 is just with Longtubes, tune, filter, and tires your running 10.4's @ 140+ mph

Or do what that guy did and take off the blower and twin turbo the GT and make 1018 rwhp. So your point being is what? That a Vette with a blower will be able to beat a GT with intake, headers, and a tune? WOW! Who would have thought that!? But even at that with putting a blower on the Vette and it only running .6 seconds quicker in the 1/4 then a GT with just a intake, headers and a tune and not even doing a pulley swap! And could you please show me as to where this Blue Devil motor will be coming in a '08 SS because I would love to see that one!

Calm down man. For the record I'd rather have a Ford GT over a Z06. Cooler and more rare. But the Z06 is a far better value. We should not sit here and say yeah but if.........the GT had twin turbos or the Vette had a supercharger.......yada yada. Truth is the GT stock for stock cant outrun a Z06 even though it has a supercharger. You are right, a few small mods like pulleys and the like would change that but then you could do that to the Z06 as well. Appreciate the cars for what they are and be grateful that they exist. Period!

I guess you forgot that the GT already has a blower and is still slower than the Vette without one, so what is your point? How about we take the blower off the GT and pump the compression up to where the Z06 is, then run them and watch what happens? The Vette doesn't need the blower or the OHC's to whip Ford boy's ass!

I have to admit... I am a DIE-HARD corvette fan...

BUT...

The GT will definitely turn more heads, and gather more attention that a C6 Z06.... to a car enthusiast, both are kickass... but to a "normal" person, a Z06 is just a corvette, the GT, well... that's something they probably haven't ever seen before...

Performance isn't everything to everyone...(sometimes the truth hurts a little)

Me... I would still take the Z06 anyway...

Reminds me. A day or 2 ago I saw a silver Ford GT in the median. With tons of cops. And one stressed looking old guy. Turnout some teen decided he wanted a joyride so he stole a GT, wrecked it, & bailed.

Taken from automobile magazine's 3 way comparison. And FYI that 1/4 for the GT is a little on the slow side. Here's what they had to say about the GT and the Z06

Everyone adores the GT, because it feels and looks so special. Sherman would take it, because "it is the most collectible, the most exotic, and I would keep it for the rest of my life as a valuable heirloom to pass on. Plus, it's great to drive." We spotted a couple of GTs in the paddock at the Monterey Historics recently, which makes sense: this vehicle presses all of a car geek's hot buttons. The only downside is the $162,195 price of our test car, although road test coordinator Marc Noordeloos points out that this undercuts its true competitors, the Ferrari F430 and the Lamborghini Gallardo.

The Z06 is the most usable of our three and also the least distinctive. It is also an incredible performance bargain, even faster and cheaper than the Viper. In performance, price, and driving pleasure, it blows the current Porsche 911 Carrera S away, although the 911 has nicer steering, a slicker gearshift, and a much better interior. Blackwell would take the Z06: "If I could afford a car like this, I would want to drive it a lot. It's such a stealth car, you could stay under the radar with it, it's easy to drive day to day, but it's nearly as quick as the GT."

Motortrend did a 3 way comparison between the Ford GT, Porsche Carrera GT, and Ferrari Enzo. Besides the GT the next cheapest car was the Carrera GT and thats about $300k more then the GT but these were the stats between the 3 cars.
