This is a 98% total remission level, and with further treatments thru this coming early Summer, I should be 100%. It's been one hell of a loooong haul. I was also in the hospital on Thanksgiving AND Christmas ! I seem to hit all the holidays. So far, I am one of the very very lucky ones! It's a battle royal, and it puts your normal life on a 18-month "hold" ! Now, my lifelong best friend's wife, was just diagnosed with Liver Cancer, yesterday! I will not tell her the hell she faces.
How did I do so well? Outlook & food. You MUST keep a happy mind, and a good outlook and be confident that you will make it, and suppliment that with high quality food. Super high quality. I went Kosher, because there are NO chemicals in it, and nothing artificial and I ate alot of vegis (fresh) and the basic food groups and easy does it on the DAIRY stuff.
Lots of fish, flounder, Sole, that kinda food. Sweets are okay, but your body needs ammo to fight, and that comes from the food groups we all learned about in elementary school and super high quality food, with as few as possible non food ingredients. I lost 66 pounds going from 263 to 197. I am now 217 where I want to remain.
A week from today - next Tuesday, the 7th, I wil have my last operation, as an out patient, it's a 1 hour deal. Ya Hoo !
Anyhow, I am sorry that I forgot to reply to all these well wishes - but, my plate has been very full.
Have A HAPPY & A HEALTHY NEW YEAR !!!! |
Damn, sir, sorry to hear you spent the day in the hospital dealing with chemo. But hey, the good news you receied certainly helps out! 98% remission? You're definitely a survivor.
Post a thread and let us know how that last op goes. |

It's a colonoscopy - pretty ordinary stuff. They knock ya out, cold, take ya to the operating room, run a full sized school bus withthe headlight on Hi Beam, up ya tush and look around to see what's what. If they see any bad boys, they cut them out with an electric charge and remove. Takes like 35 minutes, later in recovery, you will awake - but be very very very very drowsey and you need to be driven home. A few hours sleep at home and you are okay by evening.
I need to have this every year to 14 months....probably forever. This is my Second time. |

My dad had one of these last year and it wasn't the procedure that was the worst part. It was the preparation for it!! |

There is a really good chance that he can! |
