I figure this would be a nice one to sticky. I'll however eat humble pie of there is already such a thread. But here is the stuff I consider my best so far. I'm using a stock Sony Mavica CD-400, although I have an adapter ring tube and a polarizing filter on the way (well, filter is here, just need the tube). I'm throwing the small versions on here to save space, but to see the fullsize, head over to http://www.flickr.com/photos/jgillman/

Re: Photography thread **Not 56k friendly**

I have my Dad's old 40 year old cameras, medium format and 35 mm. He was a recognized nature/wildlife photographer, except they were almost all slides that he shot. Still got them back home. I've got some cool lightning and sunset shots, etc with the medium format Ricoh that I'll try to post later. Everything manual settings for me, no computers except my kickaround camera which is a Minolta from 1997. My light meter is from the early 1970's too and still works great.

You can do a lot with an old manual camera and with larger format negatives, the blowups are much more clear to the point you can actually see "depth" in the pics.

Do you have a program that allows you to sharper, brighten, etc. the pics? Usually if you can downsize, you can sharpen, etc.

How far are you from "Haidrians Wall?" I hope I spelled that correctly. I think it was built to keep the Romans out, and my friend who is a chemical engineer had to go to England on business, had extra time to travel and took pics of it.

I think it was build around 300 AD? Got some good shots of Venice too. I'll have to dig them up.

IM not very far from hadrians wall.....
My sister lives 300 yards away from a piece of it, but most of it rolls accross The North of England, it runs right through parts of Newcastle

It is a common rumour it was built to keep out the scots, but it was more like a really big customs gate... where you declared your goods upen entering the country

I should get up there and take some shots
