I took these pictures this afternoon. On a quality scale, it's probably shit compared to most of yours, but whatever.
Anyways, I love taking pictures of demolition sites. This one is an old elementary school near my office. It was built in 1928 and was later added on to. Today I drove down to the office to get some stuff out of my van, and on my way back, I drove by the school to see if any progress had been made in the week since I last saw it. They ripped out all the windows in the old wing, and moved in all the demo equipment. I wanted to go in the building, but lo and behold, it was locked. Can't a man get a break????
Here's the
BIG grapple used by the biggest excavator they had on site. This thing was probably 6-8 feet tall.
A more distant shot of the Excavator (Caterpillar 350 iirc) with it's victim as the backdrop.
Yeah, it's not small....
I wanted to get in and wreak a little havoc, but it was all locked up (surprisingly enough) and the windows were too high up for me to get access to.
Same view from two weeks ago...
On the purple wall: "Our Class Rules!"
.....guess not enough to keep the school open....
Long sweeping shot of the old wing
There will be more later, as demolition progresses. I'd like to get IN the building next weekend and snoop around a bit, provided they haven't got it completely torn down yet.
