have you seen the video? Pedro threw at Garcia but he did nothing wrong to Zimmer besides defend himself. I've seen a million shots of it, plus theres a great amateur video of a fan who was on the first base line with a nice camera. The vid can be found on boston.com
In the video, you can see pedro standing watching the melee in front of him but pedro is off to the side. Zimmer comes running around the pack of people clearly running at pedro. you can clearly see pedro standing flatfooted and zimmer running at him with a cocked fist. Pedro just tossed him aside and zimmer hit the ground. After, pedro was just standing there walking backwards like, "what the hell in the world just happened, am I dreaming?" Clearly, pedro wasn't trying to hurt Zimmer and zimmer was attacking Pedro. He should have known his role.
Btw...pedro WAS GUILTY of purposely throwing at Garcia, that kind of pissed me off. Thats why he got fined 50k for it.
Also, Jeff Nelson definitely attacked the red sox employee who was waiving the towel. Nelson is trying to make up some crap like the guy swung at him first, that's BS. A Boston cop saw Nelson attack the dude and so did several fans. I hope the victim sues Nelson and Garcia, he got royally messed up!!
What all these shananigans amounted to in game 3 was pretty much just more bad blood. I was at the damn game and it was getting pretty annoying to see all the extracuriculars instead of seeing good clean baseball. Now the 2 city's hate each other more and the mayor's are making barbs back and forth about it! this is just ridiculous and I was sad to see all this go down on Saturday.
One thing is for sure, the series is still completely captivating and we'll all be on the edge of our seats tonight....
