Been browsing craigslist a lot lately looking for a winter beater. I have no qualms about driving the Lincoln through winter but it gets bad enough traction on wet pavement, snow is gonna suck big time. I came across this while searching for anything cheap with a manual trans.
Its a 1984 Ford Tempo Diesel. As I said, I have no idea why I want this but I do. I think its partly because its only $800 and I could beat the piss out of it and not care. The brush guard only makes it better.
super reliable fuel saver, 45 mpg 2.0 diesel, stick shift, new brakes, new suspension, new starter,
This car is an aquired taste for people who know what they want.
$900 obo Call Luis at (773 ) 491-3123

Might be pretty hard to start on those cold mornings. That's not a very big issue on newer diesels since the technology is better, but it could be a huge deal on that old dinosour.
Also, is that FWD or RWD?? I noticed it has super pimpin mustang wheels.
I was looking into it a little today at school on Shopkey and AllData. It takes a 1050 CCA battery.
Do any of the older folks on here remember if these were problematic or not? I looked it up and its a Mitsubishi diesel that was used in tons of other cars at the time so it can't be to bad.

OMG, My Best friend in High school had a red tempo with a home made brush guard. He wanted a truck but his parents gave him the tempo so he did everything he would have done to a truck to it. It even had “True duals” I have a pic at home but I can not go to photobucket at work.
