Friend has a 2wd Tacoma(2002ish) that gets 25mpg. Its a 4 banger/5 speed, I've driven it and its a really tightly assembled unit. Hasn't given him one problem since he bought it with 50k miles, now it has 150k.

I know where you live the Toyotas tend to rust into oblivion after 8-10 years though.

Re: For some reason I want this

Everything rusts into oblivion after that many years. IL blows.

I wouldn't mind having something like a 4 banger Ranger or Dakota or s10 (has to be the old, boxy body style though) if they weren't so damn slow. Its a truck, it should have at least enough power to carry a decent sized load. I saw a few videos on youtube of 4 cylinder Rangers doing 0-80 runs and I don't think I could stand it being that slow. It has to be at least equal with my Cadillac in terms of speed/power.

Thing is, if it ain't a V8, it ain't a truck. (Unless its the 4.2 V6) Honestly, what can you tow with a 4cyl?

Jet skis, a small boat, a small u-haul trailer, I think the tow rating is 3500lbs. Something had to give for that 25mpg, you can't have your cake and eat it too.

Yes, they're functional. For as much as I like the design and luxury of these first generation Grand Cherokees, they weren't as reliable as the Tahoes, but the Tahoes never made anything like this. It would have been sweet if they did though....7.4L Tahoe Sport...

It'd probably get better mileage than the 5.9 GC Limited too!

You certainly would need money. Those can be spendy to keep running....they have a pretty common flaw with something in the transfer case...I don't remember what exactly it was but it wasn't cheap.

No, this isn't something that's gonna be done anytime soon. I wanna get a apartment first. This is more or less a daydream right now.

I think you'd have to go the government and ask Obama for a bailout to pay for it.

The LS1 is the better motor, no doubt, but the LT-1 is plenty fast, and I like the way the LT-1 F-Bodies look more. The LT-1 Firebirds were smoother than the LS-1s, and the LT-1 Camaros have those sinister looking sunken-in headlamps, whereas the flush mounted headlights on the LS-1 Camaros make them look fishy to me.

Hm, I guess I'm just the opposite. I really don't like the 1st half of the 4th Gen f-bodies.
