You could get one of those with that turbo 2.2, which isn't much by today's standards, but they're easily modifiable. |

I had two 2.2lt powered cars a 87 dodge aries and an 86 omni 'charger'. i bought he 'charger' win the intent of taking the engine out of my k car and rebuilding the k car engine with the parts from the turbo IV 2.2 i pulled from a wrecked CSX and a 5 speed i pulled from a daytona. the block was ****ed but every thing else that made the IV special as was fine. the project never really cam together though and every thign went to the junk yard, a damn shame given the low production of the turbo IV 2.2. oh well my caddy makes me happy and a 225 hp 220lb omni charger would have been a death trap any ways. oh well my caddy makes me happier that that would have ever made me, but man it would have been sweet. |

1) Do you like the Camaro or Firebird more, as a whole?
I vote Firebird. With the wheels and more fluid, flowing lines, it definitely looks more badass to me. Nothing from that era looked more intimidating than a nice GTA, to me anyways. |

Especially in the last gen, Firebird just looks so much cooler, while Camaro just looks kind of bland compared to it. And I think I only like the first gen Camaro better because my dad had two, and hails them as the best cars he's ever had (besides the Corvette). My half-brother's '98 Trans Am (with WS6) DEFINITELY looks more bad ass then any Camaro I've ever seen. |

The Firebird, while a good looking car in it's own sense, lacked the firm, clear cut lines of the '69 Camaro that lent it a sense of urgency and masculinity.
Here's how it breaks down for me:
1st generation: Camaro.
2nd generation: Firebird.
3rd generation: Firebird
4th generation: I liked the LT-1 Firebirds more, but when they switched to the LS-1 in '98, the Firebird added that goofy nostril setup and it made the cleaner Camaro look better to me. |

Once the face lifts got going on the second generation cars, Firebird got to be the better looking of the two. But both cars were great, fun cars that most anyone with a job could afford and enjoy! |

1st Gen: Camaro
2nd Gen 1st half: Camaro, non-split bumper
2nd Gen 2nd half: Bandit style front-end Firebird
3rd Gen: Camaro
4th Gen: Didn't like any car in the 1st half of this generation. LS1 Trans-Am when it came along, but I hated the regular Firebird, it just looked cheap.

Most of them are 250k+ by the time they get to my price range. I am looking for something cheap that gets decent mileage, but I really want a truck or SUV. As far as mid-size trucks go the Dakota is my #1 choice, hands down. It is the largest and IMO best looking ones made. I am looking for something made before '96 so I don't have to worry about emissions tests. It must also have an extended cab so have a place to lock my tools up and I can bring friends somewhere if need be.
