here it is in all its glory. As embarrassing as this car was I have a ton of stories that me and my buddy laugh about that involved this car.
Good times!

I gave Ian a few grand to take over the Crossfire payment, so my $500 Mustang is my numero uno means of transportation. Whee! |

Looks pretty good, standard rust around the front wheel wells but you can get damn near every part you need for an older truck with ease. Its also rare to see the older ones with an extended cab. http://chicago.craigslist.org/sox/cto/1393234442.html

Bet it has a turning radius of about 10 acres, lol. With that or the Tempo you could hit something and just push it out of the way. |

That looks REALLY clean for an '80. Is that the 302 or 351?
BTW, that Diesel Tempo makes 52 hp!

I'd never want to drive a 2wd truck in the winter. They aren't even very good in the rain, unless you load the bed with 500lbs of rocks.
I thought you lived where parking is a PITA and that's why you got another car besides the Brougham. That truck would probably be even worse. |

BTW, that Diesel Tempo makes 52 hp! | I dunno about the engine in the truck, but he says it gets good mileage so I am assuming 302. I am prolly gonna call him tomorrow. I have always had a soft spot for all 80's Ford trucks, but the early 80's take the cake. Its also rare to see them with the extended cab and that is the only way I like em. Quote:

I learned to drive on a full size van and everyone in my family has trucks. Just shovel the snow from your driveway into the bed and you are good to go.
Parking at school was my main concern. Its not so much as the Brougham is too large to park, its to large to park safely. I am always worried that someone is gonna hit it when it sticks out the end of a parking space. When I drive other trucks in my family I usually back into spots (easy as hell to do since all our trucks have flow through tailgates so you can see right out the back) which is a lot easier to do with such a long vehicle. |

I have no qualms about driving the Lincoln through winter but it gets bad enough traction on wet pavement, snow is gonna suck big time. I came across this while searching for anything cheap with a manual trans.
Its a 1984 Ford Tempo Diesel. As I said, I have no idea why I want this but I do. I think its partly because its only $800 and I could beat the piss out of it and not care. The brush guard only makes it better. http://chicago.craigslist.org/chc/cto/1388803644.html
Here is the ad.
Trust me man. You don't want a Ford Tempo. You really don't. 88 ford tempo's sucked back in 1996, let along an `84 in 2009. Don't do it. |
