Try it on a non-exposed area (bottom of the trunk lid or hood maybe) and see what happens. I spray painted my old Isuzu (the rusty parts at least) with Rustoleum when I had it and it held up very well.

It took me so long to get it perfect and would hate to make it go to waste. It is a 5 tone paint job and found it cheaper than buying 5 pints of different paint, reducer and thinner.
If i do clear coat it i will use a spray gun not a rattle can, just want to make sure nothing bad will happen to the enamel paint.

Then just to be safe, test it on a piece of scrap metal. |
