Compare this picture to the first one and you can see how bad it was. The first pictures were taken on Monday(21st) and this one was taken Tuesday(22nd).
It is kind of interesting though how sometimes when something like that happens though you can find beauty in it.

OMG that black and white one belongs in a frame on your wall. That is amazing, especially with the sun ray in there. Good work.

Re: Bring your boat and come on down to the south

I work at one of the major dams in NE Georgia, and our lake has come up 16 feet in 4 days. So now we have to spill away some of the excess. We have 11 spillways gates, and the last time all 11 were open was 1999. In this pic we are allowing 6000 cubic feet per second out the gates, we have been doing this for 24 hours now, and the lake has only dropped 4 inches.

Here is a pic!

Where in NE GA? That amount is crazy, but the dam itself is cool.

I noticed that Rick has been awol. Hope everything is ok.

There is a overlook above the dam, that you can look down. The public is unable to get up close to the dam for security reasons, thanks 911! You can also see it somewhat from the river park below the dam.

Re: Bring your boat and come on down to the south

I like that evening shot. If I can remember I'll have to try to check that out some time.
