But the Mark is a totally different car than the Brougham. Compare a TC to a Brougham, and the Brougham will out-handle it (and IMO, look far better doing it). |

It was a great car I loved it. It had OK power off the line, but other than that it was pretty slow. Forget highway passing power. It was comfortable but had terrible steering feel.
It was awesome just around town because it was super light but I wouldnt want to go on a road trip with it cause you'd have to make constant corrections on the highway. Its not a car you can dart in and out of traffic, or punch the gas pedal and shoot ahead into an empty space like you can with my DTS.
Gas mileage around town I averaged 14-15 mpg. My favorite features of the car were the front windows that the front corner rolled down seperately before the main window portion, the power truck closer, and the super light steering around town. Super soft ride too, and it was reliable.
It just felt good to drive around in it (crusing). For spirited driving the DTS is wayyyy better. |

I have become such a bad driver since I got my Lincoln because I have never had a car that you can dart around traffic in. I also never used to speed and recently got my first speeding ticket, 12 over. Its just too easy to do.
I also know what you mean about the steering. My Brougham is not too bad but my friend used to have an '85 Fleetwood that I frequently drove on the highway and the steering was so easy it was unnerving at times. |

Here's a real nice '87 Caprice Brougham LS, which was the flagship. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1987-...#ht_630wt_1167

The Town Cars had good interiors and solid drivetrains, but the looks, absolute garbage! It's like the guys over at Ford lost a bet where they had to design a car with nothing but a straightedge. Just ugly ugly design all around. Slightly better motor than the 307, at least as far as output, but nothing special about the 80-89 Town Car that sets it apart in the world of luxury automobiles.

The Caprice was a good, solid family car from the old school. Nothing too fancy, but still a cut above the lesser Chevy offerings and IMO better looking and loads more class than the contemporary Vics. The last true "baby Cadillac". |

| I've owned several B bodies of that vintage including an '85 Impala (stripper Caprice really), '87 Caprice and an '85 Buick Lesabre (RWD). Loved them all and truth be told, they weren't much less (if any) luxurious than a Cadillac Fleetwood of the same vintage. I like the styling of the Fleetwood better. |

Ladies love the extra length | | Cadillac Discussion Tools | | |
