Along with the regular CTS, this really bolstered Cadillac's reputation that it could build a competitive product to the Benz AMG C32, AMG C55, BMW M3, Audi S4, etc. The best part of the CTS-V over those german sedans is the avaliability and cheap prices on aftermarket go fast parts. |

The BLS is a great car, sadly the Europeans didn't take to it !
as soon as I saw it I knew I had to have one. |

I think it started with the Alante though. I always loved that car from a pure styling point (except the white tail lights):

The Allante is often forgotten about and is bar-none one of the most drop dead gorgeous Cadillacs in all their history. BTW... NetCarShow apparently doesn't allow remote linking so I rehosted the image for you

I love the clear tail lights. It is something Cadillac has been doing for a long time on and off. I know someone with a '65 Fleetwood and it has clear tail lights. My Brougham also has them.

But seriously, I'd sell my soul for a '59 convertible (even if it wasn't an Eldorado Biarritz). I'd set up some sort of existential-timeshare deal for ownership of a '59 coupe.
To me, the '59 model year represents everything a Cadillac should be. Completely over-the-top, luxurious in every sense of the word, and an unachievable dream to mere mortals. It is the Cadillac everyone thinks of when Cadillac is mentioned. |
