Hopefully this isn't against the rules...
I recently had a great experience with Amazon.com and just wanted to share.
Couple weeks ago the CTS and Lincoln LS were egged in the middle of the night. It wasn't just a bunch of dumb kids playing pranks, but absolutely delibrate. They walked up the driveway to get the front of the car too. Left the house and Windstar alone. Luckily the V and C6 are kept in the garage.
After that I was ready to skin these fvckers alive. My dad and I decided it was time to put up surveillance cameras and big fvcking flood lights. After hooking up 2 MASSIVE floodlights that over-see the driveway at night, we went looking for surveillance cameras.
Found a great system on Amazon.com at an excellent price. It included a DVR system and 4 night vision outdoor cams. Ordered it from them, and was told it ships from a third-party seller: Skybox USA. They don't ship this product to Canada; no problem, we had it shipped to a UPS Store in Buffalo. I drove over and picked it up only to find that the 4 cameras weren't in the box. Of course it was a Saturday so Skybox USA couldn't be reached. So I brought it back home anyways, having to pay tax on full value at the border.
Fast forward a couple days and after countless phone calls with Skybox USA all they could do was say they were sorry. Their listed price doesn't include the 4 cameras even though my receipt clearly shows it includes 4 cameras. First it was a "pricing error", then it was a "UPC error." All they could do was offer me a full refund. So I asked them what about my time, gas money, and tax I had to pay to bring the item back home? "We could offer you $10". Great... Thanks...
So I call Amazon.com and end up speaking with one of their supervisors. Talked to him very nicely for 2 days and this is what he offered me... Re-purchase the item from Amazon.com and select Amazon LLC as the seller instead of Skybox. (Amazon LLC's price was almost double of Skybox's). Amazon.com will re-imburse me the gas money and tax from my first trip, AND give me the difference between their listed price and the price I paid the first time. They would make Skybox give me a full refund after I sent the original item back.
I honestly couldn't believe they were willing to go that far to keep me happy. Pretty sure they took a loss but they were smart enough to look at the life-time value of me as a customer. Needless to say I'll be shopping through them a lot and am now looking for some good 2-way radios that come in handy during my cruises with the Vette guys.
And Skybox USA can kiss my ass.
