I made it through TSA security! It's 9/11, I have a one-way flight, and I forgot to pack clothes. Oh, and I'm ambiguously brown.

To a profiler, I look like a man on a mission with no need for tomorrow.

I guess I'll buy new clothes on the drive back. I also need to buy a tooth brush, razor, shaving cream, and just about everything else. I got so caught up in making sure I had all my electronics (mp3 and car charger, usb transfer cable, laptop and ac adapter, bluetooth dongle, cell, USB cell charger, wall cell charger, USB wall charger, and a granola bar. After all that I have only the clothes on my back and no toiletries.

At least I can listen to "Careless Whisper" and post on forums with my five o'clock shadow, dog breath, and body odor.

We stayed in a shithole hotel called the "Relax Inn" last night as we began our trek back to the midwest (literally a 1970s brick outpost in the middle of no-where in Sparks, GA adjacent to two long defunct gas stations) but the Inn-keeper was nice enough to let us stay as long as we wanted as we didnt make it in til about 7am. We were both dead tired so we woke up around 6pm and headed back out on the road.

We've been listening to Hurricane coverage on XM in the Escalade on the way up and what we're hearing corresponds accurately with what we've seen on the road in literally the past 12 hours... fuel prices from Georgia through Tennessee have shot up as much as 1.00 or more from where they were yesterday and as of 123AM EST the Eyewall of the hurricane has not even HIT Houston's refineries yet. Highest we've seen thus far is 4.79 in middle Georgia but there are reports of 7.00 in Elizabethtown, TN. Luckily our last fillup so far we found a gas station still selling premium for 3.95 (regular was 3.75) even though the station across the highway was already selling REGULAR for the same price as their PREMIUM.

We will have pics and more on Jesda's (positive) Escalade experience when we stop again.

Interesting setup in Cancun. You get to push a button, Green means go ahead. I assume Red means they will check you further. Only one push per family so I got the honors, got Green.
