Does this Nurburgring stuff really matter that much to people that buy these cars? Its on this site all the time. Its getting to be like Hyundai threads.
Do driver's really stop at stoplight's and proclaim to the car next to them that their car is a few seconds faster when driven by a professional on a racetrack few will ever see thousands of miles away?
This is such an obscure performance benchmark it amazes me how it has become so prevalent.
I fully support proclaiming your car's 'Ring time to other drivers.
Why should they whine ? A car with a price of 30K+ more and a V10 engine out ran their twin turbo charged V6 by 7 seconds while running on R compound tires ? Not really much to whine about in this circumstance.
Same with the ZR1, they weren't running Michelin Pilot Sport Cup tires.
I was referring to those individuals who constantly bash domestic American cars and have the mentality that anything out of Japan must be a better vehicle simply because it came from Japan. I do give respect to the GT-R for being as fast as it is. It is a great piece of engineering. But it has been beaten in this particular instance.
If anything that goes to show how good the GT-R is. the GT-R is within 7 seconds of a stripped down race car with R compound tires while the GT-R has a full interior with AWD and is street legal all costing $20k+ less
GTR is still ghay. I think all the annoying fanboys soured me on it.
Isn't that the same for basically every performance car? CTS-V fanboys on here basically have the CTS-V > everything else. Mustang guys think Mustangs > everything else, etc. You have fanboys for every thing so I fail to see what makes the GTR any different then any other car out there

GT-R fanboys have a tendancy in my experience to be ricers, which are one of the most annoying, arrogant, boastful groups of posers in the automotive community. The other fanboys generally keep their fandom in check, so I usually have no problem with them. Hell, I myself am a Challenger fanboy.
