God Bless America. | MMMM etouffee. There is a little restaurant near Ville Platte, La that we used to go to that served the "Gangplank". It was a big slice of homemade bread with a grilled ribeye on it smothered in crawfish etouffee.
AWESOME eats. |

Ain't 100% retirement wonderful ??? | So much for watching TV. I just got handed my new honey do list. I'm retired and I've never worked harder in my life. I'm looking at cataract surgery at 7:00AM on Monday so I've got to get a captains bed for my son designed and built before then.

I've been recovering from a motorcycle accident since early March. My right foot is jacked. 40 trips to a hyperbaric chamber, 2 months of VAC therapy (a machine the literraly sucks on your wound to hopefully grow tissue that was lost) and 2 surguries, I still am not walking. I have one more surgery coming up (skin graft and or muscle flap) on my foot and I should be able to walk (errr hobble) again
Anyway, since I have an open wound, I can't go to the beach (sand) this year for the 4th... Spent the day putzing around with my car instead... |

I'm terribly boring. Slept in this morning, made an omelet and some bacon for breakfast, now I'm going through three months of receipts and trying to get my checkbook and budget spreadsheet current (thank God for Quicken!). I need to wash Betty for a car show tomorrow as well. At least I have a steak and some wine in the fridge, so dinner will be good.
I hate crowds, so I won't be going to the riverfront to watch any fireworks, but in the past, one of my neighbors has had an impromptu yard party with fireworks, and we can usually see the fireworks set off by the river.
Yep, Mr. Excitement here.

Took out a couple of home-brews and will likely walk the dogs then sit on the deck and put on a nice buzz.

Small storm rolling through but I think we are going to try to go see the 'works tonight.
Should knock ridership down on the metro for a while.

I saw a clown this morning riding a crotch rocket wearing shorts and flip-flops. I guess he likes the idea of being skinned alive. |

I watched TV all morning, went out for a run at 11:30, came home, made lunch, napped and went over to a friend's place for his sister's 20th birthday then came home for dinner and I'm gonna go back out with my friends later for fireworks.

Well my dad and I went downtown to drop my brother off, got some ice cream, and came back and watched about 5 minutes of fireworks. Then got stuck in traffic for an hour. Sure glad we didn't take my car. |

I saw a clown this morning riding a crotch rocket wearing shorts and flip-flops. I guess he likes the idea of being skinned alive. | Had all the gear. That is why only my foot was injured. Woman on a cell phone turned left on front of me and I hit her doing about 35mph. Foot got caught between my highway peg in her wheel well. But the forward motion of my body literally pulled the heel off my foot, bone, skin and all... as I flew over her car and slid down the road.
Would have been dead without the helmet, jacket and riding pants. The boots were leather and heavy duty, but still the boot was torn in two... The gloves helped too. I always practiced ATGATT (All the gear all the time) regardless of how hot it was. | | Cadillac Discussion Tools | | |
