Google Maps Street View

I just found this and it is freakin awesome. They drove around in a car and took 360 Degree images of streets. They don't have all of them yet, but a great number of are on the site. Here is the link to the tutorial page of it.

Just click "Go To Street View" in the upper right corner and type in your address.

Wow.... I mean, it's cool and all... but weird at the same time..... I doubt my one-horse town would ever make it on there tho... I see Atlanta isn't even on it....

Although, Tampa was listed... so I went West a bit, and Clearwater is on there.... which was interesting...

Heh, here is my apartment, mine was on the side facing the trees, where the organge car is... mine was on the top right.... heh, where the organge car is parked is where I would always park... and the Coupe was stolen from that very parking lot, but parked all the way to the left on the end.

The Google one still doesn't impress me much...

The MSN maps version DOES, with "Bird Eye View" in most areas. It's like flying down over any area up close, and you can flip in any of the 4 directions. For instance, I can see our front porch at home...a little disturbing, but I LOVE using it just to get a better idea of places.

Not directly on the street, but more useful and impressive to me for what you can see up close & personal than anything Google does--and the general straight over aerials are more comprehensive as well.

Click the north arrow to move past the kid, then pan right to see him crash as the van passes him. Hilarity ensues.

Some of the members here (maybe Chad?) were standing in the street watching the Google truck go by with its camera taking pics and ended up online. THere was a thread not too long ago with their pics in it.

I'm the skinny kid, Tanner is the not so skinny one.
That picture was taken on Sunday, August 26th. I remember it was two days after I bought the car (the 24th) and we were going to the state fair that day, which is why Tanner is at my house. That's his old '89 Sedan deVille parked on the other side of the street.
