Nuke India and have China blamed for it. China and India go to war and reduce remaining population. America will benefit from Eastern population reduction and thus oil will be abundant again here!
Or solution #1999 -
Deal with it until some things like tapping our own oil resources, E85, and boost refining capacity becomes reality. |

While watching the news in the breakroom at work, they are saying the amount of gas people are stealing is crazy... everything from pumping gas into their car with your pump when you walk away with it on, to filling up and driving off, but then even steal gas the old fashioned way... and don't even need locking gas cap, they drill right thru the tank, showed some truckers on the TV that had that happen and a small hospital that was delayed 6hrs in getting breathing oxygen to someone because somebody drilled thru the tank in the ambulance to steal the gas.
My company just did a fleetwide campaign to switch from BP 2197/2380 to Mobil JetOil II... they come in the quarts by the thousands, and that is just this one location.... guess that means we support the terrorists now
Personally for my car, I only go to Chevron, the whole techtron and top tier thing did it for me... if not Chevron, then any other top tier... Shell, I think Texaco, tho there are not many around here... I don't think BP is top tier, but their gas still seems to be good.

| | | Re: Gas Strike: Friday, May 2, 2008 My plan is to use less. Keep the cars tuned and maintained and plan my trips. I even picked up a Ford Escort so I could garage the van. Americans are going to have to learn what the rest of the world already knows.
Here's an education in layman's terms. How gas prices work |

| | | Re: Gas Strike: Friday, May 2, 2008 We still pay half of what most countries residents pay at the pump.
All I can do is conserve... which I have been doing for years.

| | | Re: Gas Strike: Friday, May 2, 2008 I work at a gas station/garage... Currently the prices are $3.96 regular, $4.16 for plus, $4.26 for super.... I can tell you factually that boycotting gas for one day will not do a damned thing. The gas stations buy their fuel deliveries about once or twice a week. Before you even buy the gas, it has been paid for by the gas station. The petroleum companies have their money already. The only way you can do damage would be to boycott the gas for at least a week. I don't think that is very possible for most people.
The ONLY way to make this really work would be to boycott the use of gas for at least a day. If you boycott buying gas and you still use it during that day, you're just going to buy gas another day. The question is, How are you going to boycott the use of gas? It's nearly impossible for most. Better yet, How do you make it a habit to boycott the use of gas? |

| | | Re: Gas Strike: Friday, May 2, 2008 $3.96 in Hawaii to the current $3.79 here is the least different I have ever seen it. Maui was usually $0.80 to $1.00 more.
I sold my F150 Supercrew 4X4 after about a year on Island because I got tired of the ridiculous cost.
