I think the one company boycott (Exxon/Mobile being the biggest) would eventually force the hand of that company to lower their prices, which forces the rest to match to keep market share.

Probably not a permanant fix (until you have to do it again) but it is something. Oil companies understand one thing. MONEY. Taking it away from them is the ONLY thing they will understand.

Like I said, unrealistic but really the only chance anyone has to impose their power as consumers to effect the marketplace.

Most oil companies are publicly traded so their stock can be purchased to get some return on your purchases.

I dont try to buy plummeting stock. I prefer PLUMMETED stock.

The oil execs answer to shareholders. The stock is publicly traded so pretty much anyone can become a shareholder and reap the rewards of record quarters.

Meh. Each disposable diaper tossed into the trash everyday required 1/2 pint of crude oil to produce. It would make more sense to get people to use cloth diapers for all those babies...do you think that would work???
