Any helicopter pilots out there???

Well to make it short, I've got ~15 hours in a R22 ~3 in a R44...and I'm having a helluva time mastering auto rotations......basically what I'm asking is how long did it take you to get it when you first started...I've only done a few 180 autos but for some reason they don't want me to have this knowledge before I solo.....any tips/tricks someone could share...I know it's a long shot, but I figured what the hell....I'll take advice from anyone I can.

15 hours in a R22? Your the bravest man I have ever met.

There is a helo school in Kona and they would come to Maui to shoot ILS's in R22s. HOLY MOLASSES Batman.

I have a ton of experience working Euro 135s/Ecos and Hughes 500's but I couldnt tell you the 1st thing about flying one.

^^ really not that complex with the semi rigid rotor systems that are on the 22's....either way, musta had a bad day....I've got auto's down pat now.
