What about a 1991 350 SDL? Much more powerful and you get the better updated interior

Re: Any Mercedes buffs here? 1994 C280 question

The W126 has that low, long lean look that the 77-92 Broughams have, and to an extent, the 90-97 Town Cars. Like the 93-96 Brougham and 98+ Town Car, the W140 got bigger, taller and fatter than it's predecessors.

Rick, the W126 got a nice interior update in '89 or '90 and it looked a lot less sterile and a lot more plush and "American".

Re: Any Mercedes buffs here? 1994 C280 question

Yeah, I remembered about the interior update towards the very end.... I'll have to look into it more again.... Heh, this time about 2 years ago I was going crazy over these things as I was sure I was going to get one, so I was doing all my research on them.

the 350SDL is more powerful, but I remember asking about that ont he MB forum, and for some reason everyone said the 300 version is more relible, something with the 350 and EGR and if not taken care of by previous owners, it'll give lots of trouble.

Chad, I'll have to agree with that statement about the cars, I think thats pretty much the same view point I have... maybe sorta why all 3 of those cars really appeal to me? sorta like a tank on wheels

Heh, just as I was filling up with gas before I left for my parents place last weekend a W126 pulls up next to me, I guess thats sorta what rekindled my passion for them... car was in real nice shape except for some door dings ont he passenger side I asked if it was a diesel, but then I realized there was no diesel at this particular pump It was an older guy, seemed English sorta, I was like thats a really nice car, he goes the Jag...errr....Mercedes-Benz? I said yeah, I've always like them. He said it was 17 years old and he bought it new, it was beige. He said he also has a Jaguar at home that is 25 years old and British Racing Green that is in mint condition, then said that he is an older guy and has an older taste in cars, but I assured him I have a similar taste in cars as well .... guess he likes the older European cars. I wonder if he lives here or not, this particular town isn't very big, but I don't think I've seen the car before, would have been cool to talk to him more about it and the Jag, he seemed really interested in them.
