At that time there was around 200 orange mustangs there. I HIGHLY recommend thier driving course. Before you laugh at the cart driving school...they hold the track record there and would eat a V alive. I had mine airborne in the chicaine. The only thing that sucked was I had to keep pulling over to wait for a break in the traffic so I could let 'er out without running the other drivers over.
I had raced super outlaw carts on dirt before going there so I was very familiar with the vehicle. I raced as hard as I could and thought I was blasting it. Then the instructor takes you around in the van and shows you how to count your shifts up and down, etc... then I realised I knew nothing. After that course I cut a massive amount of time off my laps. Like night and day after you get pointers from professionals. Well worth the trouble and cost if you want to actually KNOW what you are doing behind the wheel. |

What a great post, thanks for the nice words, we really appreciate it. Those Karts are really amazing, nothing like what you think of when you think Go Kart. Its the Enzo Ferarri to the Hyundai rental car. 0-100 MPH in 6 seconds! I hear that most of the F1 drivers actually train in Karts because they are the closest thing to driving an F1 car. |

I hear that most of the F1 drivers actually train in Karts because they are the closest thing to driving an F1 car. | Right after WWII formula cars in Europe were hard to come by so as an interim measure a 500cc formula was adopted that was designed around 500cc motorcycle engines. Somebody built a car around a 500cc J.A.P. speedway bike engine and asked Juan Fangio to try it out for him. He looked it over, grumbled something derogatory about it, climbed in it ,and took off. The first corner he came to he was off the track and upside down. He crawled out of it and came back shaking his head and saying, "Damn, that thing goes". |
