the super outlaw carts I raced were 500cc 100hp 2 stroke motor in a 450 lb car wet with you in it. Chain drive torque. To this day it is the only vehicle I have ever raced that scared me. I had an all glass scout with an NOS 427 injected that never scared me. That little cart would've left it sitting there. 0 to 100 in 6 seconds? The carts at Bondurant are 80 or 125's. The one I raced was a 500cc. I'll bet it could hit 100 and stop in 6 seconds. Maybe less. No joke.

I think it makes a difference. Im sure Im not the only one who would be more inclined to pay attention to a promotion of something by someone who is 31 other than say.......18.

Not saying an 18 year old wouldnt know anything about it. Just that a lot of people look at experience coming with age.

Thanx for the reply.

I wish you had posted this when my sister still lived in AZ. I could have made a dual-purpose trip.

Re: 10% OFF to FORUM! Bondurant School of High Performance Driving!

The V specialist salesman at one of my local dealers mentioned that a V driving school was going to be going on this summer at Road Atlanta. He couldnt remember the name off the top of his head but your school is the only one I could think of.

So is it going to be you guys? I may have to make the trip.

We use the V is our High Performance Driving courses, but we don't travel with the school to other tracks. We have a purpose built 60 acre facility here in Phx, AZ.

Before you laugh at the cart driving school...they hold the track record there and would eat a V alive. I had mine airborne in the chicaine. The only thing that sucked was I had to keep pulling over to wait for a break in the traffic so I could let 'er out without running the other drivers over.
I had raced super outlaw carts on dirt before going there so I was very familiar with the vehicle. I raced as hard as I could and thought I was blasting it. Then the instructor takes you around in the van and shows you how to count your shifts up and down, etc... then I realised I knew nothing. After that course I cut a massive amount of time off my laps. Like night and day after you get pointers from professionals. Well worth the trouble and cost if you want to actually KNOW what you are doing behind the wheel.
UPDATE!!!

ZR1 Driving Program!!!

Who: Anyone that has purchased a ZR1 and has the original driving school certificate, compliments of GM, to attend a two-day driving course at Bondurant. The course will also be sold to the general public for those that are 18 and over, have a valid driver’s license, and can drive a manual transmission.

What: The custom-designed ZR1 course will allow drivers to learn valuable car control skills while they acquaint themselves with the entire Corvette lineup, using the base C6 with a Z51 suspension package, the Z06, and the new ZR1.

Why: GM desires that all ZR1 buyers are able to enjoy their new purchase and acquire skills to drive the car confidently and safely.

Where: Bondurant’s purpose built 60 acre training facility at Firebird International Raceway near Phoenix, Arizona.

When: The ZR1 Corvettes allocated to Bondurant will arrive in September; courses will begin shortly after arrival, probably in October. The 2-day course will typically be scheduled on a Thursday/Friday.

How: Driving exercises are designed for the student to walk away with a good understanding of vehicle dynamics and car control skills. Throughout the day, the drivers will have the opportunity to choose their vehicle for each drill.

Price: $3,395.00
Students per class: Initially 3
Student to Instructor Ratio: 3:1

Course Outline:

Day 1
8:00 – 8:30 Check in
8:30 – 9:00 Welcome, Introduction
9:00 – 9:30 On track Lead & Follow

Optional Vehicle Insurance: Insurance can be purchased for $75.00/day which limits the students liability to the first $6,000.00 per vehicle per incident. Without the insurance, the student would be liable for all damages.

Certificate redemption: With every new ZR1, GM will provide the buyer with a certificate to attend a 2-day driving school at no cost. Optional vehicle insurance, travel arrangements, etc are not included and are at the expense of the participant. The original certificate will need to be delivered to Bondurant prior to, or at, course check-in. The certificate is good only for the 2-day ZR1 course and can not be substituted for cash or credit towards another course. Non-ZR1 owners are eligble to attend the course by paying the advertised retail price of $3,395.00.
