Thats my biggest gripe with US automakers. I HATE the vast majority of the dashboards. They are just CHEAP, and WAYYYYY to much platic. The 08 CTS finally has caught on and I hope we see this trickle through GM.
IMO Ford has been way ahead in this department in the last decade or so but still not close to the Euros or Japanese in the same class comparisons.
I mean that is a nice looking car from every angle, EXCEPT the dash. |

F | Here we go. Why because it is front wheel drive? Because as far as the Impala SS goes, this last gen is the Fastest, best stopping, best handling and most reliable one to date, The early ones were just like these ones today an afforable 4 door factory hot rod for the masses. I think it does a pretty good job wearing the SS badge, now if you want to pick on something maybe I could see the Cobalt or Malibu SS.
Times a change, just becuase it is old dosen't mean it is good. |

Except for the FUGLY corporate radio, the Ford 500 has a nicer dash than the Impala. Same goes for the 03-06 Navigator versus the previous gen Escalade (though in reality im one of the few people who liked the blocky old design of the GMT800 dash).

Yeah, but compare the '97 Taurus to the '97 Grand Prix, Intrigue, Regal or Lumina. Or the '97 Mark VIII to the '98 Eldorado. '96 Continental to the '96 Seville, etc etc. There are many others too. The '90s were not a bright era for Ford in their interior design, even in the luxury cars. But the new Ford's interiors are really very nice. |

I must say that thing is slow as hell. I hope this one kicks some ass. |

My former 04 Lincoln LS was WAY better than my current V dash. Touchscreen navigation, green lighting vs this horrid orange. Finished materials instead of just the plastic. Leather trimmed doors vs this foamish material in the Cadi. My 2001 F150 Supercrew Lariet interior was WAY ahead of any Chevy until the brand newest models.
That said, I HATE Lincolns new body styles. Theres a reason I dont currently drive a Ford product, and I get them at hella deals.
NOBODY has worse interiors IMO than Pontiac.
I didnt buy the V for the dash, I bought if for the right pedal but after driving an 08 CTS I cant wait for new V to be a COMPLETE performance/luxury sedan. |

Ford's best interiors nowadays: Navigator (LOVE the instrument panel on those), Mustang's IP is nice too, F-Series have a nice interior, especially the 08+ Super Dutys, etc etc. |

It's like Ford took the worst styling cues from their 70's cars and threw them all at the Navigator all at once.
Keep in mind I love alot of the 60s and 70s Linc's myself, but that Navigator has a face and an interior only a mother could love. | | Cadillac Discussion Tools | | |
