The Caprice, in the "bubble" body, was made from '91-96. '91-93 Caprices either had the throttle-body-injected 5.0L or 5.7L.
In '93, they cut out the rear fender wheel skirts, BUT then in '94, the interior was refreshed AND they got the new LT1 engine. And, more importantly, '94 was the first year of the Impala SS model for the Caprice.
It was the same kind of "sport" option/model for all 3 years, '94-96, but was unique in this way:
1994: First year, had the "old" small mirrors mounted down on the front doors; C-pillar window behind the rear doors was reshaped by a triangle insert specific to the Impala; center console & buckets, with column shifter; only came in Black outside.
1995: Received the new, larger window corner mounted side mirrors; 2 new colors, now Dark Gray Green Metallic and Dark Cherry Metallic in addition to the Black; and what was once an insert to "reshape" the side rear window was now how the C-pillar was made from the start on ALL Caprices and Impalas; same center console/column shifter.
1996: Last year; received the center console shifter; analog gauges vs. the '94-95 digital; OBD-II electronics system, which makes it a bit harder (but not at all impossible) to tune than the OBD-I system in '95 and earlier cars. LAST year for the Caprice, Impala, etc...basically the whole GM B/D-body car line.
LOTS of information...but a great forum where a lot of us GM B/D-body people also frequent is:
