Among other things, it appears the Volt is confirmed for 2010, and the DTS and Lucerne will be retired the same year. DETROIT — If General Motors executives are outraged by the details of its future product plans that have flooded the Web, they can thank their partners at the United Auto Workers, who leaked the details this weekend, following the settlement last week of a landmark contract.

I think the difference is most of this was industry-wide speculation before, and now it's been basically confirmed by insiders. |

I understand that Ford and Chrysler definitely don't want to match that part of the pattern agreement. The GM product disclosures were part of the GM agreement to commit to maintain product assembly at existing plants rather than send it to Mexico. |

So will the DTS and Lucerne (originally based on what, the '92 Seville?) be replaced by a large RWD, or is GM getting out of the large car business? 
All I know is, when I get old, I don't want to have to be lurking on eBay for a 30 yr old DTS... (no offense to those reading that are in their mid sixties...)

BTW, I am a former UAW member. (Worked at a GM plant two summers and after 45 days, automatically started having dues deducted. I was thrilled.) My daughter worked for an auto supplier for a short while and was also a UAW member. | | Cadillac Discussion Tools | | |
