Printed out the Declaration of Independence early this morning, read it as a 'refresher course' , gave my 6 & 7 year old an idea of what the day really is about. In a neighborhood parade I made them say Happy Independence Day (instead of happy 4th of July). I had the pleasure to shake the hand of and give thanks to a young Marine in his dress blues. What a day, what a Country.

I got to carry the U.S. Flag in a local parade today. What felt the greatest was hearing all the old veterans clapping when they saw the Flag.

to day was amazing... i realize today what a great place i live in and how we live doesn't compare like other places around the world i can say i am thankful i am an American... and glad i live here

Good for you! It is Independence Day not the 4th of July...okay, it is the 4th of July but you know what I mean

I remember something I read one time about a sailor in uniform; they look like they can handle anything from a beautiful girl or a lost puppy to a burning aircraft carrier.
