Cadillac Forums: Road trip time!! Where should I go?
So I'm looking to take a roadtrip down south, Florida most likely, and I'm wondering where I should go. I'll probably stop down by Fort Myers to see if the girl is around that I met in December, but I think she might have a boyfriend now. Which means I need a place that is gonna have a lot of girls my age on the beaches sometime in mid June, and maybe I can meet up with some of you Florida guys.
What are your suggestions?
Come to Orlando. I guarantee youd have a blast. Youd be more than welcome to come party with me and my friends.Im sure i could hook you up with a fine lady too. There is alot to do around here. If youre into partying its even better.
Forget about the South. Head North to Alaska. The temperature is in the low 80's and there isn't a cloud in the sky. The sun doesn't set until midnight and it's up again before 4:00AM.
Hook up to I-77 Go all the way into SC, Link up to I-26 E-bound and follow it to Charleston. Take it until it ends and enjoy the hospitality.
Incidentally, I just drove to Massillon/Canton From Colorado Springs. I don't care what people say about travelling during these current gas prices, here are my stats: 1321 miles each way 18 hours with the wheels turning took 2 20 minute naps and slept 6 hours in a hotel after the first 12 hours. Got an avg of 29.5 Mpg and avg 78 Mph. Whole trip cost $350 in PREMIUM gas! And it was the first road trip ever in this car,and I cant wait to go somewhere else! THE BEST PART, was following a BOXTER on the way back. I dont have a radar detector and also have the belief that if you hear the alarm its too late anyway. We COOKED from the Indy Border to Topeka Kansas and when we both stopped to gas up we laughed about not even seeing one cop. He was surprised I kept up and I was surprised that I had the NADS to.

Have fun on your trip regardless where you stop.
Going cross country, spent a couple days at the Grand Canyon. Headed to Chicago but needed to get to Tulsa to meet up with a friend for dinner. Left 4:30AM Arizona time(6:30AM Central) and got to Tulsa at 8:30PM. 1100 miles. On one stretch I averaged 29mpg and almost 90mph heading down the plateaus.
As for radar detectors, if you keep your eyes open and try to keep yourself cloaked as often as possible, advanced warning from kickass detectors like the V1 will be more than enough to keep you out of trouble. 12+ years and 0 tickets by radar with my V1 is more than enough proof that radar detectors work beautifully.

Well, I've decided on Florida. I think I am going to stop in Orlando on my way down and see whats up with some of you Floridians and then continue on my way down to Fort Myers. Whatever happens though, it's bound to be a blast.
Yeah, good choice. If you decide to meet up with that one girl (I remember that thread with her, she was hot) let her know you're comin' down and wanna meet up with her before hand. It might be kinda weird if you just showed up.

Haha, yea, she'd probably be like wtf??? I sent her an e-mail the other day, so I should be hearing back from her soon.
The biggest problem I am having is finding people to go with. Who wouldn't want to leave a small town of 10,000 people for a week to go on a road trip for southern Florida where there are tons of girls for a week. Craziness.

And I guess you'll take Interstates all the way, huh? You poor, sheltered soul...
