My youngest brother turned 3 and I was about to get him a $10 pack of toy cars.
I was at Wal-Mart with a friend and saw an Escalade, Hummer, Jeep, and this Mustang. I said "Should I do it? Should I really do it? I always wanted one when I was a kid." Business was good this month so I figured why the hell not.
After a minute or so of contemplation, I got a shopping cart and loaded it up. Just under $300 disappeared from my checking account.
The problem then was how the hell I was supposed to fit it in the Q. The box was too long to go in the back seat and fit between the two doors. We decided to just pull a Missouri and shove the short end in the trunk with most of it still sticking out a few feet behind the car. It seemed "pretty well good there" and I drove home on back roads, keeping an eye on my rear view mirror.

The assembly qualified as "actual work", being more effort (over an hour) than I had put into my Q45 in an entire year. Even funnier was that this toy car cost about a quarter of what my REAL car cost.
I was tempted to get my floor jack out of the garage so I could more easily install the steering.

Yes, a real wiring harness. The dashboard has a working speedo and "fuel" gauge.
Also has a two-speed transmission with reverse. And yes, its rear wheel drive!

Comes with a radio but I didn't set that up. It would have annoyed everyone to death. This one just plays annoying pre-installed music. The more expensive Escalade and Hummer had a real working FM radio and antenna.
It also has a cupholder.

Also has seat belts, adjustable seats, rack and pinion steering, and a 12-volt electrical system.
Yes, I could grab the Kenwood head unit out of the garage and install it if I wanted to. Looks like a DIN-and-half sized slot with plenty of room behind it.

We ate cake. I won't have to buy him a present for another ten years.
Apparently there's a bunch of mods available for these things. It would be nice to have rubber tires and bigger motors. When he outgrows it, I'd like to turn it into a huge RC toy.
