I was thinking about getting an extended warranty. I know its not going to be cheap, my dealer quoted me about $2000. 3 years 36 thousand miles with $100 deductible. I think that beats buying a new rear. I hope to get a small pick up or some other bad weather mobile in a year or two so my miles would drop dramatically after that. I know a bunch of people got them (extended warranties) where did you get good deals?

I did pretty extensive research on warranties before buying my 2004 V. My main concern was getting everything covered (including the drivetrain and navigation system) just in case!
I went with Warranty America through Agape Auto Warranties (888) 242-7380 or Mike@AgapeAutoWarranties.com with $100 deductible, bumper to bumper (they list what's NOT covered and it's a short list) up to 100,000 miles or 4-years with the standard stuff like towing, rental reimbursement, travel expense reimbursement, etc. Very thorough.
My cost was $1,673 as the V was still under the Caddy manufacturers warranty when I purchased the extended warranty. Agape noted this reduces the cost.
Hope this helps!

I have one, but I got it through GM when I bought the car, and extended it to 6/100 about 6 months after.
