I went up to Duluth last weekend to visit my best friends up at UMD, We had a lot of downtime so I drove around Duluth a lot, just checkin it out. I've always loved Duluth, right on Lake Superior, built on the hill, makes for some great scenery and pictures..

Here's a new pic of my '92, and I think it's the best pic of it I've ever taken. This is on a little peninsula that juts out into Lake Superior.

From the same spot, you can see parts of the real industrialized part of Duluth..the west end.

I stopped somewhere else on the same peninsula to get a better vantage point. Turns out there was a nice gap for me to park between these two other Caddys..

Looking out into the bay on the west side of the peninsula I was on. The major part of Lake Superior is on the east side of the peninsula. I've always had a fascination with large ships like these, so I wanted to get closer..

Here's another few shots from another peninsula, farther to the west, on the other side of this bay. I couldn't get up real close to the ships, as there was a "no trespassing" sign, but this is good enough. From what I could tell, it looked like some sort of drydock/storage place. These first two pics are of the 2nd ship I pictured above.

I've always wanted a pic of my boat with a bigger boat in the backround...

I know, I was dying to get closer, but there was the sign, plus all the fences. I probably could have gotten extremely close, but I worried about some security guy coming, finding me and fineing me $500 like the sign said. I'd love to take like a 16' motor boat into the lake/bay area and get right up next to one of these ore carriers, but I think their wake would pull us under. Man that'd be cool though!

Seeing those Great Lakes freighters made me think of the Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald as well. Nice pics.

Yeah, a facility like that is probably under Gov't regs for security requirements (MTSA), and there's big fines for trespassers! I also wouldn't pull along side one when it's underway, they usually have a safety or security zone around them, so you'd get in some trouble there as well! :thepan:

Did you fix the dent or are you just using creative angles? I'm too tired to tell.....

Thanks everyone for the positive reviews, I'm glad you all liked it! I've walked into Lake Superior once before...got to my "cubes" and got back out I got a case of "raisin bag"...and that was in July! Dope, I never did fix my body damage.

Nice pics, man. Nice.

Many years ago, I was up hiking in Amnicon State Park, and Pattison State Park, in Wisconsin, right near Superior....

Pattison had a huge waterfall in it, that is definitely worth seeing.

Very pristine unspoiled corner of the world....
